Our members also span the globe—proof that a love for rock companions knows no borders.
Our geological wonders are our VIP members, but humans also are important. While stones and pebbles can’t quite manage a keyboard, we wholeheartedly encourage their human companions to connect with us and each other through email and social media.
From backyard finds in Florida to mountain treasures in Nepal, anyone who’s ever formed a special bond with a rock is part of our community. Whether you’ve named your first sidewalk pebble or curated a shelf full of glittering quartz, if you’ve ever felt that quiet bond with a rock, you’re already one of us. If a rock has ever stowed away in a pocket, made it into you home and stayed, and for some unexplained reason, you delayed tossing it, let’s face it. You are one of us.

How we got started
It all began with a few friends swapping stories and photos of their favorite stones—some painted, some plain, all strangely beloved. What started as a shared joke soon revealed a deeper charm: people everywhere had quiet connections with their rock companions. As interest grew, so did the idea of creating a place to celebrate them. It all came together in the first-ever National Pet Rock Show—a joyful gathering where stillness finally had its spotlight.
What we do
At the Pet Rock Show, we blend creativity, community, and a touch of geological wonder. Our goal is to host - and encourage others to host exhibits, competitions, and local gatherings that celebrate rock companions of all shapes and styles—painted, polished, dressed up, or proudly natural.
Our guides, resources, and shows help people connect through storytelling, art, and shared humor, while promoting a deeper appreciation for the overlooked beauty around us. More than just fun, it’s a movement that encourages slowing down, noticing the little things, and finding connection
—in nature, in creativity, and in each other.
